Hospitals, quarantine facilities get free Globe GoWiFi as NCR, other areas placed under ECQ

As the National Capital Region (NCR) and other areas in the country are placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) due to the threat of COVID-19 and its more transmissible Delta variant, Globe has provided some hospitals and quarantine facilities with free GoWiFi internet connection to help medical frontliners, patients, and their loved ones remain connected amid the ongoing pandemic.

A total of 140 hospitals and 12 quarantine facilities will receive the free internet connection which will last until August 30.

“Despite the ongoing pandemic, we assure our customers, especially our frontliners, that we are here to provide them with the connectivity services they need," Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu said.

"Our continued network investments are being done to provide our customers with a richer, fuller data experience,” he added.

Cu said the GoWiFi connection is available in the following hospitals:

Cu said that Globe has been offering the GoWiFi service at select hospitals in Metro Manila as early as March last year and extended the free and unlimited internet service in select vaccination sites.

He added that GoWiFi is currently accessible in over 3,100 locations throughout the country.

To use free GoWiFi, simply connect to @FreeGoWiFi or @_FreeGoWiFi hotspots using a WiFi-enabled device, and start surfing. The service is available to all users regardless of their network provider.

Metro Manila and the other areas in the country were placed under ECQ last August 6 and will last until August 20.
