No less than POC president Bambol Tolentino made the surprise announcement during an online press conference Sunday morning, Aug. 8, saying that it will be the same incentive given earlier to weightlifting gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz.

"The two silvers and one bronze, bibigyan ko na rin ng pabahay," said Tolentino. "Para puwede nila ibigay sa kamag-anak nila."

Both Nesthy Petecio (featherweight) and Carlo Paalam (flyweight) captured silver medals while Eumir Felix Marcial (middleweight) bagged the bronze.

After the announcement, Paalam and Marcial, who attended the press conference, were all smiles and ecstatic about the recent development.

"Napawisan ako bigla," said Marcial. "Grabe po 'yong blessing at sobrang thankful kami sa Panginoon na may may isang ginamit tao para po makatulong sa amin at magbigay ng inspiration sa amin.

"Sobrang saya namin, bigla akong napawisan ah," added the 25-year-old Zamboanga native boxer with a chuckle.
