DOST: 7 products of Bukidnon's biggest dairy farm get halal certification

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has announced that the seven products of Bukidnon’s largest dairy farm are now halal-certified.

DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña said DOST-X through Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) Bukidnon has assisted Universal Harvester Dairy Farms Inc. (UHDFI) in securing halal certification under the Consultancy and Training Services program.

“This is the first DOST-X assisted company that has acquired Halal certification which can help them expand their business,” he said in a report.

He cited that the UHDFI is the “biggest dairy farm in the country”. The dairy farm is located at San Miguel, Maramag, Bukidnon.

“The dairy farm comprised a total of 460 hectares of grazing farmland with a mountainous terrain for 2,000 cows,” de la Peña said.

“The company offers various products such as yogurt, whole milk, fresh cow’s milk, and chocolate milk, all of which have been Halal-certified.”
