Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso revealed that the city’s vaccination portal received 133 hack attempts Wednesday night, hours prior to the overcrowding at vaccination sites on Thursday.
Domagoso, however, said the hackers failed to break into the vaccination portal of the city.
The mayor also took responsibility for the queuing mess at the mall vaccination sites.
“Pasensya na kayo mga kababayan pero ‘wag kayong mag-alala, hahanapin ko ang puno’t dulo nung sumigaw na may tao na daw sa loob ng mall, nag-umpisa na daw ang bakunahan kaya sumugod ang tao (I’m sorry to my fellow citizens, but don’t worry, we are already looking for the person responsible for this, the one who shouted that there's already a person inside the mall and that the vaccination has begun),” he said during his live report on Facebook Thursday.
Domagoso said there are people who are trying to sabotage the city’s vaccination efforts.
The mayor assured the public that the incident during Thursday's vaccination will be investigated, including the hacking attempt.
“Our system is not perfect but at the end of the day, what matters most is the objective...I will do everything for us to move on...in my own little way,” he said.
