Las Piñas City LGU issues curfew hour guidelines

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar ordered the local police and the barangay officials to strictly implement the curfew hour from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

Aguilar said based on the city ordinance passed and approved by the City Council under Vice-Mayor April Aguilar, only authorized persons will be allowed outside their residence beyond curfew hour.

She said barangay officials in coordination with the local police must apprehend violators of the curfew hour.

The mayor said under the ordinance, apprehending officials must accompany the offender immediately to his/her residence.

Aguilar said in case the offender refuses to be accompanied back to his/her residence, the apprehending official shall seek the support of the police for proper arrest and detention.

She added that if the offender is a minor, the family member will be notified, and will be released with the understanding that the offender shall be submitted to the Punong Barangay for the corresponding penalty.

The mayor said the penalties imposed for curfew violators are P1,000for the first offense, P2,000 for the second, and P5,000 for the third offense.

Aguilar said in case the offender is homeless, abandoned, neglected or has no known family member, the apprehending officer must refer them to the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO).
