The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Southeastern Mindanao held a three-day basic marksmanship training for its operational control personnel in Davao City in celebration of the its 36th anniversary.


Apart from the basic marksmanship training, the Coast Guard said it also served as an avenue for the personnel to strengthen their camaraderie and develop interoperability among units and offices.
"Marksmanship is an essential skill for PCG personnel for them to effectively enforce maritime laws and regulations in the Area of Responsibility (AOR),” Commodore Allan Corpuz, PCG District Southeastern Mindanao commander, said.

The PCG said the initiative also focused on the growth of the Coast Guard personnel primarily in maritime security and law enforcement.
The Coast Guard added necessary assessments were implemented through the cooperation of the PCG Medical Service – Southeastern Mindanao to uphold safety of all participants.
