“The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) warns the public of the fake Facebook and GCash account of PRC Secretary General Elizabeth Zavalla,” the humanitarian organization said in a statement on Sunday, August 1.

The PRC said its legal team is currently investigating the incident, noting that it will take legal action against those behind the scheme.

“We are reminding everyone transacting with the PRC to transact only through our official channels,” Zavalla said.

“We will take necessary legal actions against anyone involved in these fraudulent transactions,” she added.

The PRC urged those who want to inquire about the services offered by the organization to contact its national headquarters or chapter offices.
