A memorial stamp of the late President Benigno S. Aquino 111 will be launched by the Philippine Postal Corporation on August 2, the 40th day from his passing.

The “Salamat PNoy” stamp is in the P12 denomination, and will have a limited run of 40,000 pieces. It will be available immediately after the launch, Norman N. Fulgencio, Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said.
The design was submitted to the sisters of the late president and was approved by them. It also bears his nickname, “PNoy” and shows him in a formal dark suit in the early days of his administration. The stamp will be unveiled by the PostMaster, Fulgencio and guests of honor Malabon Mayor Lenlen Oreta and Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar. After the unveiling, Fulgencio and the guests of honor will sign the Official First Day Cover.
Malabon Vice Mayor Bernard de la Cruz and Councilor Lorenzo Oreta will also be in attendance at the ceremonies at the Central Post Office lobby at Liwasang Bonifacio.
To accept the stamp for the Aquino family is their first cousin Mayor Oreta. His late mother, Senator Tessie Oreta was a younger sister of Aquino’s assassinated father Ninoy Aquino. Andanar will give the closing remarks.
The postal office said that the stamp is a “ fitting tribute to his services and contributions to society. We pay respect to a leader who had given his best to serve the Filipino people. Regardless of political colors, race or creed, we are grateful to PNoy for his leadership, contributions to the development of the country and public service.”
