Affection8: The first online cosmetic store in PH to pre-commercialize DOST’s halal cosmetic products


Affection8 Consumer Goods Trading became the country’s first online cosmetic store to pre-commercialize the Department of Science and Technology- Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) halal cosmetic products.

The DOST-ITDI and Affection8 signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on July 22 in Bicutan, Taguig City.

"Through this agreement, Affection8 Consumer Goods Trading shall be the first to pre-commercialize three of ITDI's halal cosmetic products, namely lipstick, clear shampoo, and soap. It shall also provide market testing and knowledge transfer for the said products,” it said in a Facebook post.

The MOA was signed between Affection8 owner/proprietor Monica Sandra R. Cariño and ITDI Director, Dr. Annabelle V. Briones.

“ITDI’s halal cosmetics follow the highest standards in safety, sensory, and visual qualities, thus ensuring products that are of high value for consumers,” the DOST-ITDI said.

The MOA signing was witnessed by Officer-in-Charge (OIC)-Deputy Director for Administrative and Technical Services Dr. Zorayda V. Ang; Dr. Rosalinda C. Torres, chief of the Standards and Testing Division and project researcher; Nelia Elisa C. Florendo, chief of the Technological Services Division; and Business and Development section head Dr. Lorelle A. Baracol.
