Duterte's PSG soldier also a musician; wins in int'l music composition tilt

A member of President Duterte's Presidential Security Group (PSG) who is also a musician, made the country proud after winning the grand prize in the International Youth Music Composition (IYMC), a virtual contest recently held in Atlanta, USA.

Omshanti Panlilio, a member of the PSG and a resident of Angono, Rizal, bested 102 entries from other musicians coming from 35 different countries with his winning composition "Heneral Jesus P. Durante III March: The Brightest Star." Rizal News Online bared that the IYMC grand prize is actually Panlilio’s second win in a span of two months. He also won first prize in the Classical Music Competition category held in June.

The latest winning musical composition of Panlilio, which he wrote for his commanding officer at the PSG, Brig. Gen. Jesus Durante, III, was one of the 102 entries submitted online by various composers. Panlilio’s first achievement in June was recognized by Malacanang and the PSG and earned him the Military Merit Medal Award. Like him, his two sons, Johan Nazareth Panlilio, 9, and Tzadkiel Panlilio, 6, also won first and second prizes in the IYMC competition in April.
