Korean actor Ji Chang-wook tests positive for COVID-19

Korean actor Ji Chang-wook, 34, has been diagnosed with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The actor is currently filming the drama “The Sound of Magic” aka “Annarasumanara" and underwent testing over the weekend and tested positive for COVID-19.

Glorious Entertainment, his agency, announced on July 26 that “Ji Chang-wook tested positive for COVID-19. We are working on self-isolation and treatment in accordance with the guidelines of quarantine authorities.”

As a result, the filming of the drama has been stopped while the entire crew and other actors are being tested, Korean media reported.

Ji Chang-wook is the latest Korean celebrity to get COVID-19 amid the growing number of daily confirmed cases in South Korea.

Last July 21, K-drama “My Roommate Is a Gumiho" actor Kim Kang-min tested positive for COVID-19.

K-pop boy band ATEEZ member San fully recovered from the disease last July 19 and resumed his activities along with other members of the group.

Hani of K-pop girl group EXID and actress Yoon Jung-hee, who both belong to the same agency, tested positive for COVID-19 last July 20.

Since June 27, the following Korean celebrities also tested positive for COVID-19: trot singers Kim Hee-jae, Jang Minho and Young Tak, Olympic gold medalists Park Tae-hwan and Mo Tae-bum, BTOB member Lee Min-hyuk, Treasure’s So Jung-hwan and Doyoung, model Han Hye-jin, former volleyball star Kim Yo-han, athletes Yoon Dong-sik and Lee Hyung-taik, singer Seo In-young, child actress Lee Go-eun, actress Cha Ji-yeon, K-pop girl group Lovelyz member Seo Ji soo, K-pop boy band Noir member Kim Min-hyuk and K-pop boy band Infinite’s Kim Sung-gyu.
