P2 M in properties lost in fire sparked by collision between 2 trucks in Nueva Vizcaya

DIADI, Nueva Vizcaya – Two trailer trucks collided in Barangay Nagsabaran here, sparking a fire that caused an estimated P2-million worth of damage to property before dawn Thursday, July 22.

Police said a trailer truck driven by Wilfredo Faustino, 66, and another trailer truck with license plates NBTN-2139 driven by Walter Taguinod, 44, of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan collided on a curved road around 3 a.m.

Faustino’s truck went straight to a house and store, igniting a fire. Faustino and his helper, Christopher Flores, 42, of Bulacan, and Taguinod managed to get out of their trucks.

However, they sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Occupants of the razed house owned by the Garcia family were safe, police said.
