Ospital ng Maynila (OsMa) had to request for additional vaccine supply on Monday, July 19, after thousands of individuals flocked to the hospital to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Hospital Director Dr. Karl Laqui said around 900 to 1,000 individuals were already in line for vaccination when they did a headcount from 8 - 9 a.m.
He added that some started lining up as early as 12 a.m.
Laqui said the hospital staff first explained to those in line that the hospital only had 300 vaccine doses allotted for Monday’s vaccination since there was no assurance that it can get additional supply for the day or use the supply allotted for other days.
After “several talks,” Laqui said it was decided that all individuals who lined up for vaccination will be accommodated.
“We accommodated them all, wala naman kaming pina-uwi (we didn’t send anyone home),” Laqui told Manila Bulletin in a phone interview.
Laqui said there were several individuals who lined up after the first headcount was conducted in the morning, so the hospital requested for additional 300 vaccine doses from the Manila Health Department.
