TAYUG, Pangasinan – A 35-year-old woman was arrested after she was caught by her husband and the police sleeping with her alleged lover inside the couple’s house in Barangay Libertad, here Saturday, July 17.

Police said they arrested the woman upon the complaint of her husband, a 45-year-old seaman, who secretly went home last July 12 upon learning that she was cheating on him while he was working overseas.

The seaman stayed in his relative’s house as he planned to catch her unfaithful wife and her lover with the help of the police.

“Walang kaalam-alam ang kaniyang asawa na babae na nakauwi siya at doon nagtungo sa kaniyang mga kamag-anak at saka nitong madaling araw inabutan niya sa akto ang misis at lover nito (The wife doesn’t know that her husband is in the country and stayed with his relatives and caught his wife and lover sleeping together beforedawn),” police said.

Around 3 a.m. last Thursday, the seaman was accompanied by cops to his house where they caught his wife and a 30-year-old man sleeping together in bed.

The lover managed to run away while the cheating wife was arrested by the police. Hours after, however, the lover surrendered to authorities.

"Pero kanina din pagliwanag ng umaga, ang lover ay nagapahayag ng pagsuko kaya hinuli na rin (The lover expressed intent to surrender so he was taken into custody this morning)," the case investigator said.

The report said the seaman was able to learn of his wife’s illicit affair with another man from one of his relatives.

“Naawa na marahil ang kamag-anak sa lalaki kaya napilitan nilang ibunyag ang ginagawa ng kaniyang asawang babae kaya nagplano na umuwi at tanging kamag-anak ang may alam (Relatives had pity on the man and revealed his wife’s illicit affair, prompting him to go home which his relatives only knew),” police added.

The woman and her lover are now in the custody of the Tayug police while awaiting the filing of appropriated charges against them.
