ILOILO CITY – Once again, three tourists have entered world-famous Boracay Island in Malay town, Aklan province with fake COVID-19 test results.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Don Dicksie De Dios, chief of police in Malay town, said the three tourists caught Wednesday, July 14, were all from Cavite province.
The three were identified as 64-year-old Benjamin Pastrana, 56-year-old Marichu Pastrana, and 55-year-old Luisa Mingi.
The trio arrived in the resort island around 9 a.m., but were taken around 11 a.m. when officials of the Jetty Port in mainland Malay called the Malay Police Station.
Cops proceeded to the hotel where the trio were billeted and the trio were taken to Kalibo, the provincial capital of Aklan where there is a quarantine facility.

De Dios said that Benamin Pastrana and Luisa Mingi presented COVID-19 test results allegedly from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), but it was not issued by RITM.
The COVID-19 test result for Marichu Pastrana is not valid.
The trio will face charges of violating Republic Act No. 1332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) urged Boracay-bound tourists to follow proper protocols.
“Tourists should not use fake test results so not to endanger the locals from getting infected just in case they would turn out to be positive with COVID-19,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson.
