Farewell, comrade! Manila's first official animal frontliner passes away

Manila City’s first official animal frontliner, Chichi, has passed away.

Chichi was the dog of Kagawad Jeanne Ramos and Jake Ryan Ramos and served as a Barangay Dog frontliner in Barangay 379, Santa Cruz.

The Manila Public Information Office (PIO) announced the passing of Chichi on its Facebook page on July 14.

Chichi was laid to rest at the Manila North Cemetery.

A Barangay Dog Frotnliner ID was issued to Chichi in April, 2020 since she always tagged along during barangay patrols when the city was placed under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

Chichi was adopted by Jean and Jake in 2018 after they saw him wandering the streets.
