“He brings his valuable managerial skills, experience in health management and private sector perspective in the governance of the various campuses and in the crafting of university policies in the Board of Regents,” said CHED Chairman and UP Board of Regents Chairman Popoy De Vera.

De Vera received Pagdanganan’s appointment papers from Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea on July 13.

“I now welcome and look forward to working with Regent Pagdanganan as UP continues to lead in service to our Isko and Iska and for the nation,” De Vera said.

Pagdanganan, who will serve for the period of two years, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Cardinal Santos Medical Center.

CHED said that Pagdanganan finished his Business Administration and Accountancy degree in UP and has been an active alumni supporter of UP sports for several years already.

Meanwhile, CHED also commended the invaluable contributions of Regent Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez in the past four years particularly his “advocacy for academic excellence” in the various colleges and his "insistent demand" for UP to seriously exercise its leadership role in Philippine higher education.

“It has been a pleasure working with Regent Jimenez and I will miss our caucuses in my office on important issues presented before the Board,” De Vera said.
