TikTok-themed funeral in Pampanga goes viral

At first glance, you would think a movie was being shot as a coffin was being carried by people who are seen dancing to the tune of several TikTok songs.

The video went viral especially when netizens realized it was an actual funeral march for Jhon Rudolph Pacia in Masantol, Pampanga whose request was to have a “fun interment” before his death a few months ago.

Pacia’s mother said her son loved to dance when he was a child and was even a familiar fixture in countless Ati-Atihan events.

Pacia actually died last March 16 but the video was recently uploaded by Mae Paras which has garnered 1.8 million views as of this time.

Before Pacia died at age 29, he told his mother about his wish of having a cheerful funeral march.

The video got mixed reactions from netizens, with some calling it absurd.

“Ano ba iyan wala na respeto,” commented one Yumi Castro.

“Hindi porket ganiyan paraan ng paghatid sa kaniya wala nang respeto. Huwag bitter, at least nagpaalam ng masaya,” replied a certain Bernadeth Portem Zamora.
