‘Sarge’ volunteers wheels to deliver modules in rugged Cordillera town

Much-needed school supplies and modules reached an elementary school separated by a big river when a police officer volunteered his vehicle to deliver them in Paracelis, Mountain Province last July 12.

The selfless act of Police Executive Master Sergeant Franco Ramos did not escape the attention of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar.

“Si Police Executive Master Sergeant Franco Ramos ang dapat tularan ng iba pa sa ating hanay. Wala siyang pag-aatubili sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo at tulong sa kapwa (Policemen should emulate Police Executive Master Sergeant Franco Ramos. He did not hesitate to help others),” Eleazar said.

“Ganito dapat ang bawat pulis, pinapairal ang tunay na malasakit sa kapwa at walang pinipiling pagkakataon o paraan para tumugon sa tawag ng serbisyo (Every policeman should be like Ramos who showed concern to others and did not pass off the chance to heed the call of service),” he added.

Last July 12, teachers from the Mulliang Elementary School in Barangay Anonat asked personnel of the Paracelis Municipal Police Station for help in bringing supplies to their school as they had no means to transport them.

But the municipal police mobile unit had no ability to cross a big river on the way to the elementary school. Ramos, learning this predicament, once again volunteered to bring the school supplies using his Sports Utility Vehicle, saving the day for the teachers.

Ramos had previously helped deliver modules for the school.
