MRC Data: BTS, NCT in top 10 album, digital song sales in US in first half of 2021

K-pop idol groups BTS and NCT have made it to the top album and digital song sales rankings in the US in the first half of 2021.

MRC Data, which supplies music sales data to Billboard, released its 2021 Midyear Report for the US market covering the period Jan. 1 to July 1, 2021.

Based on the report, BTS grabbed the first two spots in the Top Digital Song Sales in the US in the first half of the year.

BTS’ “Butter,” which was released on May 21, ranked No. 1 with sales of 841,000 while BTS’ “Dynamite” took the No. 2 spot with sales of 283,000.

Here is MRC Data’s Top Digital Song Sales chart in the US for the first half of 2021:

1. BTS – “Butter” – 841,000

2. BTS – “Dynamite” – 283,000

3. Masked Wolf – “Astronaut in the Ocean” – 246,000

4 Dua Lipa feat. Dababy – – “Levitating” – 238,000

5. Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak) – “Leave the Door Open” – 203,000

6. Olivia Rodrigo – “drivers license” – 199,000

7. The Weekend – “Save Your Tears” – 187,000

8. The Weekend – – “Blinding Lights” – 176,000

9. Cardi B – “Up” – 166,000

10. Saweetie feat. Doja Cat – “Best Friend” – 148,000

In the Top Albums chart, based on total sales, BTS’ “BE” placed eight with 128,000 in sales.

The top 10 in Top Albums in the US in the first half of 2021 are:

1. Taylor Swift – “evermore” – 374,000

2. Morgan Wallen – “Dangerous: The Double Album” – 241,000

3. Taylor Swift – “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)”- 237,000

4. Carrie Underwood – “My Savior” – 211,000

5. Harry Styles – “Fine Line” – 162,000

6. Taylor Swift – “folklore” – 153,000

7. Olivia Rodrigo – “Sour” – 146,000

8. BTS – “BE” – 128,000

9. Foo Fighters – “Medicine At Midnight” – 126,000

10. Billie Eilish – “When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?” – 118,000

In Top Physical Albums, BTS’ “BE” ranked sixth with 125,000 in sales while BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7” placed 10th with 105,000. NCT’s “Resonance, Pt. 1” grabbed eighth place with 106,000 in sales.
