San Juan City Representative Ronaldo Zamora revealed during an event in the city that he was vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine made by Sinopharm last December and received two other vaccine doses made by Pfizer as booster shots.

"Kahapon sobrang nagulat (Yesterday I was really surprised) ako when he spoke about it. Yesterday was a milestone here in San Juan because we have reached more than 100 percent of our target population to be vaccinated with one dose, and the moment he spoke and told us about his Sinopharm vaccination which actually shocked me because as far as I'm concerned, what I know is we vaccinated him with two doses of Pfizer here in San Juan and I never knew that he got vaccinated with Sinopharm last December," Mayor Zamora said in an interview with CNN Philippines.

"This is his doctor's order because six years ago he had a kidney transplant, 16 years ago he had a quadruple bypass, so according to our conversation earlier, his doctors' adviseh him to get Pfizer because after he had his Sinopharm vaccination last December and upon testing his antibodies, they were zero," he added.

The mayor also clarified that his father is qualified to receive the Pfizer vaccine in San Juan and "did not take it away" from someone in need of the vaccine.

"Not necessarily. Yung Sinopharm naman is hindi galing sa San Juan, so technically, dito sa San Juan, dalawang dose lang ang nakuha nya. So wala naman syang inagawang ibang tao kumbaga (Not necessarily. The Sinopharm vaccine did not come from San Juan. So technically here in San Juan, he only got two doses, meaning, he did not take it from other people)," Zamora said.

"He's very much qualified. He is a senior citizen, he is immunocompromised, and he is a person with comorbidities, so given his health status, talagang qualified naman syang bakunahan. Like what I mentioned, yung Sinopharm eh hindi naman galing sa amin. Ang mahirap yung halimbawa kung yung unang dalawang doses nya galing sa San Juan and yung pangatlo at pang apat nya eh galing din sa San Juan. Then, that means meron syang naagawang isang tao nang two doses (He's very much qualified. He is a senior citizen, he is immunocompromised, and he is a person with commorbidities so given his health status, he really is qualified to be vaccinated. Like what I mentioned, the Sinopharm vaccine did not come from us. The problem will be, for example, his first and second jabs came from San Juan and his third and fourth jabs also came from San Juan. Then that means he has taken away two doses from someone else)," he added.
