The idea of leaving the Philippines made soul singer Jaya emotional.

In fact, Jaya uploaded a video while she was at the airport.

In the video, Jaya thanked all those she worked with for the past three decades of her career and fans who supported her since day one.

The 51-year-old singer-songwriter promised to return home when things are back to normal.

"Off to new adventure," said Jaya who went to the US with her kids.

After their stopover in Japan, they finally arrived in Washington.

"We made it! My face shield and face mask are off," Jaya shared. "This is home for now."

Prior, Jaya wrote an emotional farewell message on social media.

"Lord God, it pains me to say goodbye, but I still praise you for all your goodness. I trust your plans for me and my family. We go where You lead us. All glory to You Jesus…now we start on a new journey. I will miss you all. Paalam mahal kong Pilipinas," her caption read.

"P.S. My throat hurts from swallowing because it stops me from crying. Pero ok lang, marami akong bitbit na alaala, baon ko para sa sandaling maisip ko ang lungkot, maaalala ko na naging masaya at maayos ang aking inilagi dito."

In March, Jaya shared how the pandemic has taken a toll on her.
