The government has given the green light to the conduct of the grand coronation night of the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 but subject to certain health protocols against the coronavirus disease.
Participants and guests of this year's beauty pageant will be required to undergo swab test for coronavirus prior to the event based on a decision issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
The Binibining Pilipinas 2021 coronation night will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this coming Sunday, July 11. Thirty-four candidates are vying for the prestigious beauty crown.
"Also approved is the holding of the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 Coronation Night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum strictly following the submitted health and safety protocols," Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement Friday, July 9.
"All participants and guests shall be required to undergo COVID-19 RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) Test 48 hours prior to the event," he added.
Four queens will be crowned with the titles of Binibining Pilipinas International, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental, and Binibining Pilipinas Globe this weekend.
