Edward Barber campaigns for voter registration

Kapamilya actor and host Edward Barber is inviting everyone to go out and register to vote in the coming 2022 national and local elections.

Edward has been extremely vocal and visible in several campaigns encouraging voter registration and even reminded the public that “voting and registering to vote is not a trend; it is our responsibility and our duty as Filipinos.”

The half-British, half-Pinoy young star's latest effort to boost the people’s awareness of the importance of exercising their rights was when he guested the head of "Vote Pilipinas", a non-partisan and non-profit organization, during the first episode of his “Kuwentong Barber Season 2” on June 23.

The soon-to-be 21-year-old actor is not just all talk as he registered as a voter in September last year together with his fellow ABS-CBN talents, Maymay Entrata and Robi Domingo.

During his appearance in “Love Kita Pinas” launch in May, he even unabashedly recounted his experience and blunder when he filed his application at a Commission on Elections (Comelec) office and stressed that don’t be like him, follow the procedures.

“I encourage you to register and vote… If you think one vote does not have power, if you don’t vote or you don’t register to vote, you don’t have any right to complain,” said this soon-to-be neophyte voter.

Known not just for his good looks but likewise for his wit and eloquence, the host of MYX’s global show “Fresh Take” reminded his “Kwentong Barber” viewers that “if you love our nation, love our country, you care about not just the present, you learn not just about the past, but you look to the future and ask yourself where are we headed as a nation, where are we headed as the Philippines. "

The Comelec, which aims to register 7 million new voters before the registration ends on September 30, luckily found an ally and campaigner in Edward Barber.
