Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III and Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson on Thursday, July 8, kicked off their public consultations by praying for "God's guidance and wisdom" about their possible bid for higher national posts in the 2022 elections.
Photos posted on Sotto's official Facebook pages showed him and Lacson stopping by the Barasoain Church in Malolos, Bulacan. Sotto's office said these were before meeting Malolos officials as part of their consultative tour across provinces in Luzon.

"Started our journey for Luzon consultative tour with a prayer. Besides I go to church everyday anyway," Sotto told reporters in a message when asked about their photos.

Sotto and Lacson are considering running for vice president and president, respectively, in the 2022 national and local elections but have yet to decide pending their consultations with sectors.
But the Senate leader said that they were already drafting their plans and platforms should they run for the country's highest elective posts.
"We're looking at the solutions, and if they are doable," Sotto said in a previous interview with media.
Sotto is currently the chairman of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), while Lacson is independent.
