Cops told to stick to existing travel rules amid confusion on protocols for fully-vaccinated

Amid another confusion on the travel protocols for fully-vaccinated individuals against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) , the Philippine National Police (PNP) instructed its men to stick on the existing travel rules, especially those being implemented by the Local Government Units (LGUs) that were approved by the government's task force against the virus infection.

"I have already directed all regional and provincial police offices to closely coordinate with local chief executives as to what documents should be presented at the Quarantine Control Points so travelers may be granted entry into provinces, cities or municipalities.

The national government said fully-vaccinated individuals can just present their vaccination cards when they travel. However, the Department of Health recently clarified that local government units can still ask for RT-PCR test results from visitors before they are allowed entry into the localities.

Eleazar said that the different government agencies and the IATF are still ironing out the policy. He also reminded the public to find out the existing rules on the localities they intend to visit to avoid hassles.

He also advised the public to check first the requirements in their areas of destination in order to avoid travel hassles.
