Three people died after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a bus in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan on Monday night.
Police said John Califlores, 17, the driver of the motorcycle, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while his companions -- Ervin Tan, 28, and Christine Ongkiko, 14 -- died on the spot.
Investigation conducted by authorities showed the victims were drunk when the incident happened along EVR Road in Barangay Bagong Buhay II at around 11 p.m.
Califlores was reportedly driving at high speed when he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a bus being driven by Gerry Mendez, police added.
“Itong mga namatay na ito, may nakainom sa kanila. Kung nakikita natin, ‘yung ginagamit nilang motor, walang ilaw. Same time, sila po’y hindi naka-helmet (Some of the victims were drunk. And as we can see, the motorcycle they were using had no headlights. At the same time, they were not wearing helmets),” Maj. Julius Alvaro, the city police chief, said in a GMA News interview.
