ILOILO CITY – Starting Thursday, July 1, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has allowed the operations of the Small Town Lottery (STL) in Panay Island.
“But the STL operations would strictly adhere to health protocols,” said PCSO General Manager Royina Garma.
The PCSO General Manager was in Iloilo to formally launch the operations of new STL agents for Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Iloilo.
In Iloilo, the new STL agent is Seven Aces Gaming Corp. Antique and Capiz will be under the 888 or Good Fortune Gaming Corp. Aklan is also under a new STL agent.
Garma explained that the new STL agents currently have a year-long probationary permit to operate in Panay Island.
“If they can comply with the other requirements, then they can operate for a period of at least three years,” Garma added.
With the ongoing pandemic, PCSO has in place proper health protocols.
“They have to wear face masks and they must always bring alcohol. As much as possible, they should have no direct contact,” Garma added.
For Garma, the resumption of PCSO is a big boost in generating money that can go back to fund medical needs of indigents as well as aid in the government’s COVID-19 response mechanisms.
