Finalists of the ECOP KAPATID awards recognized


“With emphasis on industrial peace and harmony, quality, productivity and innovation, responsible and ethical business conduct, and business resiliency and continuity, the KAPATID Awards underscores the vital components that provide for a sustainable partnership between the management and workers which translate to business growth and employee satisfaction,” ECOP Governor and Chairman of the 2021 KAPATID Awards Executive Committee Engr. Renato Almeda said in his speech during the presentation of the finalists for this year’s KAPATID Awards at the Opening Ceremonies of the 42nd National Conference of Employers.

Established in 1995, the Kapatiran sa Industriya (KAPATID) Awards is held every two years. It gives recognition to companies that have proven themselves to be model organizations that embody a strong partnership between labor and management in promoting the four (4) pillars of the KAPATID Awards as mentioned by Almeda.

The 10 finalists that showed excellence and best practices are the following companies:

1. Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc.

2. Continental Temic Electronics (Phils.), Inc.

3. Energy Development Corporation

4. Gruppo EMS, Inc.

5. Mariwasa Siam Ceramics, Inc.

6. Nestle Philippines, Inc.

7. Rohm Electronics Philippines Inc

8. SM Supermalls

9. STMicroelectronics, Inc.

10. The Medical City Ortigas

“Congratulations! We hope that your business practices can provide a viable mode for others so we can accelerate our journey towards a better normal for all.” said Vice President Leni Robredo, who graced the NCE42 ceremonies for the Keynote Address, as she witnessed the presentation of the finalists.

A total of 30 companies applied and only 19 made it to the Executive Screening. Out of the 19, only 10 companies moved on to the final round. These companies went through a screening process of documentary review and interview evaluation by the panel of judges composed of esteemed individuals from the ECOP Board of Governors, government, business sector, organized labor, and international development organizations.

The winners of the KAPATID Awards will be announced during the Closing Ceremonies of the NCE42 on 30 June 2021.
