The Province of Bulacan has yielded good results in its fight against COVID-19 with 96 percent recoveries and active cases down to two percent, according to Governor Daniel R. Fernando.

During the Scholarship program Campus tour and awarding and distribution of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) held at the Bulacan Polytechnic Colleges in the City of Malolos on Tuesday, Fernando said Dra. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Provincial Health Officer II, Bulacan Medical Center reported that COVID-19 cases in Bulacan continue to decline.
This has prompted the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to place Bulacan again under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with some restrictions.
"Kahapon ay nagtext po sa akin si Secretary Menardo Guevarra ng Department of Justice at sabi GCQ pa rin ang Bulacan hanggang July 15, pero some restrictions lang kasama ang Rizal at naiwan ang Cavite at Laguna na ang ibig sabihin ang status ng kanilang COVID ay mataas pa," ( Yesterday (June 28), Secretary Menardo Guevarra of the Department of Justice texted me that Bulacan will still be under GCQ until July 15, but with only some restrictions together with Rizal. Cavite and Laguna were left behind which means the status of COVID-19 in their area is still high)," Fernando said.
He said the province's fight against COVID-19 is quite good but still urged his constituents to not be complacent and strictly follow the minimum health standards "because the virus is still around."
Fernando said he has directed the PHO to finish the vaccination of all employees in the province as well as the mobile vaccination in all villages.
The PHO reported on Tuesday, June 29, that out of the total of 39,351 COVID-19 confirmed cases in the province, 96 percent or 37,912 have recovered.
The PHO also logged 115 new infections with fresh cases of 62 and late cases of 53. The news infections were added to the total number of active cases of 579 or 2 percent.
Of the 579 active cases, 69 are admitted in the hospitals, 126 are admitted in TTMF while 384 are in home isolation. The PHO has also recorded 4 new deaths for a total of 860 or 2 percent of the total cases.
