National Task Force (NTF) Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon called the viral botched vaccination in Makati an "isolated case."

A video making the rounds on social media showed a vaccine recipient failed to get a proper coronavirus disease (COVID-19) shot after a health worker did not press the plunger that will push the contents of the syringe.

Dizon said the incident is currently being investigated by vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez and Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque.

"It was clearly an isolated case of a healthcare worker who's really very, very tired at that time," Dizon said during a ceremonial vaccination in Valenzuela on Monday, June 28.

"You have to understand that our health workers are very tired," he added.

The incident has also been reported to Makati Mayor Abigail Binay.

According to Binay, the patient already went back and already got the dose, said Dizon.

The Health department vowed on Monday that improvement in vaccination protocol will be made to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
