DOH records 6,096 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) tallied on Sunday 6,096 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases across the country.

The new cases brought the country's cumulative total to 1,397,992, 3.8 percent of which or 52,570 infections remained active.

It was shown in the latest case bulletin that 89.5 percent of the active cases were suffering from mild symptoms, 5.6 percent have no symptoms, two percent have severe symptoms, 1.4 percent were in critical condition, and 1.48 percent were in moderate condition.

The death toll rose to 24,372 or 1.74 percent of the total COVID-19 cases after 128 more people died.

Meanwhile, 6,912 more patients survived, raising the number of recoveries to 1,321,050 or 94.5 percent of the case total.

The DOH said that 57 percent of intensive care unit beds nationwide for COVID-19 patients are currently filled up, while 47 percent of isolation beds are occupied.
