Robredo proud of new Navy chief Bordado


Vice President Leni Robredo praised her fellow Bicolano Rear Admiral Adeluis Bordado for being the Philippine Navy’s new Flag Officer in Command.

Robredo had a rare chance meeting Bordado on Saturday, June 26, during the inurnment of former President Benigno Aquino III at the Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Parañaque City.

The vice president posted photos of their meeting on her personal Facebook page. They were joined by retired Admiral Alexander Pama and Lt. Commander Danny Vidad, her security officer from the Philippine Navy.

“I told him how proud we are that the Chief of the Philippine Navy now is an esteemed son of Calabanga, Camarines Sur,” she wrote.

The lady official shared that Pama is the former boss of her eldest daughter Aika at the Office of Civil Defense.

“I had a rare photo with two very distinguished men...These are men I really admire and look up to,” Robredo said.

“Pinasama namin (Joining them is) si Lt. Commander Danny Vidad, also of the Philiipine Navy, our Security Officer. Siya naman ‘yung (he is the) future FOIC,” she added.

President Duterte appointed Bordado, replacing Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, who retired earlier this month.

Bordado is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Maringal” Class of 1988. He will serve until his retirement in September 2022.
