Founded by a businessman based in Davao City, the Inday Sara Duterte Adovacy (ISDA) will hold medical missions in the cities of Carcar and Naga Sunday, June 27. Rice and other food packs will also be distributed during the activity.
ISDA founder Jerson Pardillo said the movement is non-political as it different from other groups that were launched to urge the Davao City mayor to run for president in the 2022 elections.
Pardillo insisted that the formation of the group is not mean to promote Mayor Duterte’s possible presidential bid in 2022. “Her heart is for the poor, for the fishermen, for the farmers. I named the group after her because she inspired me. I know her but she doesn’t know me,” Pardillo said.
Pardillo, who is into fishing industry, has been leading the movement for the past several years but it was only last year when it was formally organized.
In a press briefing here Friday, June 25, movers of the group described ISDA as a movement which is being championed by private individuals, volunteers, and groups who firmly believe in upholding the positive Filipino values of “bayanihan” (working together to achieve a common goal), “malasakit” (compassion) and “pakikipag-kapwa tao” (respecting others).” Pardillo broke down as he narrated his humble beginnings. “I just started with a small fishing boat and then later on I was able to make investments in Indonesia,” said Pardillo.
As his business grew bigger, Pardillo started helping farmers, fishermen by giving them decent housing and helping their children send to school.
