Fire hits residential area in Makati


A fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay Pio del Pilar, Makati on Friday afternoon (June 25), affecting some 50 families, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

The fire started at an old two-story house on Washington Street at 1:39 p.m. It reached the second alarm at 1:47 p.m. and was declared out at 3 p.m., the BFP-Makati reported.

Superintendent Ian Guerrero, BFP-Makati chief, said the fire consumed at least eight houses in the area. No one was reported hurt.

The blaze damaged at least P300,000 worth of properties, the BFP-Makati disclosed.

Fire investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
