The national flag in all military camps across the country are now at half-mast to mourn the death of former President Benigno Simeon 'PNoy' Aquino III.

Maj. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), said the lowering of the Philippine flag at half mast is a gesture of mourning to Aquino as former President and former Commander-In-Chief of the AFP.

"The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joins the Filipino nation as it mourns the death of former President Benigno Simeon Aquino III," said Arevalo in a statement.

"As soldiers, airmen, sailors, marines, reservists, and civilian human resource unite with our kababayans in prayer, the national flag in all military camps will be flown at half mast as a gesture of mourning the demise of a former Chief Executive and once Commander-in-Chief of the AFP," he added.
