Biñanenses say PNoy was 'instrumental' in city's Charter enactment


BIÑAN, Laguna - Mayor Arman Dimaguila expressed his condolences over the passing of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III on Thursday (June 24).

"His legacy contains something that is dear to every Biñanense's heart," Dimaguila wrote in a Facebook post. "PNoy was instrumental in the enactment of the Charter of the City of Biñan during his term as a Senator and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Government."

Dimaguila remembered PNoy's "acumen and prudence" and his contribution to the country's economic growth and improved government services. He also ordered the flying of flags in the city at half-staff for ten days to honor the former President.

Biñan Representative Len Alonte-Naguiat, a close friend of Kris Aquino, also expressed her condolences.

"He was a good man who served his country with utmost passion and the highest standard of integrity," Alonte-Naguiat wrote on her Facebook page. "Thank you for your service to the Filipino people. May you rest in peace, PNoy."
