The Zamboanga local government has offered free rides under its “Libreng Sakay para sa Resbakuna” program to ramp up vaccinations in the communities.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said free rides are available to senior citizens and persons with disabilities and co-morbidities on their way to the city’s vaccination sites.
The libreng sakay program has coincided with the first day of vaccination using the Pfizer vaccines in the city.
Health frontliners, senior citizens and those with co-morbidities are among priority groups who were vaccinated using Pfizer.
The Zamboanga City Health Office has activated two commercial malls and the Ateneo de Zamboanga University among vaccination sites offering the Pfizer vaccine.
Coronavirus cases in the city further dropped to 699 after 66 new recoveries were recorded on Monday, June 21.
A total of 22 new COVID-19 cases, however, were also reported on the same day.
