The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) thanked Wednesday, June 23, the Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation Inc. for donating 50 units of desktop computers to the Philippine Science High School System (PSHS).

In a Facebook post, DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña expressed his gratitude to the 40-year old foundation for their assistance to the PSHS amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
"These computer units will immensely help our Pisay teachers and students with their online learning. Maraming salamat po (Thank you so much),” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday night. De la Peña chairs the PSHS System’s Board of Trustees (BOT).
He said PSHS Executive Director Lilia T. Habacon and Deputy Executive Director Rod Allan de Lara received the donated desktop computers, with the assistance of the Office of Senator Nancy Binay on June 23.
Binay is a BOT member of the PSHS System and chairperson of the Senate Science and Technology (S&T) Committee.
“The desktop computers will be distributed to the 16 PSHS campuses across the country,” de la Peña said.
