In a statement Wednesday, June 23, PSSC head Angel Sumagaysay said those arrested violated the COVID-19 standard health protocols, community quarantine guidelines, and executive orders from May 16 to June 19.
Those not wearing face masks topped the list at 26,176, followed by face shield policy violators at 17,425; mass gatherings, 17,274; curfew violators, 11,108; liquor ban, 721, and violation of the rule of only accessing essential goods and services, 592.
Sumagaysay added that fake reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test violators reached 136 while there were eight violators of the prohibition on billiard games.
He said 7,380 violators have been charged while the rest were either warned or fined.
“From August 1, 2020, to June 19, 1,899 cases were filed from the 7,455 (riders) caught pillion riding without a barrier,” he added.
The city is still under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine until June 30 as declared by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
