PH Red Cross responds to the diarrhea outbreak in Davao De Oro

To respond to the needs of over 170 individuals affected by diarrhea in Davao de Oro, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) immediately deployed water tankers, water purification unit, welfare desks, and first aid station.

“Kaagad natin pinadala ang ating water tanker mula sa Davao del Sur at water purification unit mula sa Agusan del Sur upang makapagbigay agad ng malinis na tubig sa mga naapektuhan ng diarrhea (We immediately dispatched our water tanker from Davao del Sur and water purification unit from Agusan del Sur to immediately provide clean water to those affected by diarrhea,” said PRC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman Senator Richard Gordon.

PRC, under the leadership of Gordon, deployed two water tankers, water purification unit, welfare desks, and first aid station to provide aid to the 173 individuals affected by diarrhea in Brgy. Pasian Monkayo, Davao de Oro.

Likewise, PRC provided 73,000 liters of water in Purok 1A, Purok 10, and PNP border control to make sure there is access to clean water in the affected areas.

PRC said that it will continue to provide clean water in Brgy. Pasian and will conduct a handwashing activity to “inform the people of the importance of proper hygiene to prevent cases like diarrhea.”
