Muntinlupa LGU’s first dose vaccinations reach 100,000 mark


The Muntinlupa City government’s vaccination program has reached a milestone when it reached the 100,000 mark for first dose recipients.

Dr. Juancho Bunyi, officer-in-charge of the Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO), told the Manila Bulletin that as of June 19, a total of 103,025 individuals have received their first dose of the vaccine while 27,562 got their second dose.

The first-dose recipients represent 26.7 percent of the target population of 385,725 in Muntinlupa.

The city government is currently using the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine donated by the national government that came from the COVAX facility. Based on guidelines, the COVAX-sourced vaccine is being used for priority groups A1 (health workers), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities) and A5 (poor population). No persons under A4 (essential workers) are being inoculated with the brand.

The total of 103,025 first-dose recipients is an increase of 3,545 from the 99,480 who got the first dose as of June 18 in Muntinlupa.

Based on the 99,480 first-dose tally, 8,616 individuals belonged to A1; 14,919 were A2; 55,199 were A3; 19,705 were A4; and 1,041 were A5.

Based on vaccine brand, 65,566, or 66 percent, were inoculated with Sinovac Life Sciences’ Coronavac, 19,059 (19.1 percent) were given AstraZeneca, 11,876 received (11.9 percent) Pfizer-BioNTech, and 2,979 (3 percent) got Sputnik V.

One of those who were vaccinated in Muntinlupa was Broadway star Lea Salonga who got her first jab last June 18.

Of the 27,394 who were administered the second dose as of June 18, 2,250 were A1; 5,443 were A2; 19,266 were A3; nine were A4; and 426 were hospital workers.

By vaccine brand, 20,344, or 74.26 percent, were given Coronavac followed by Pfizer-BioNTech, 3,475; Sputnik V, 2,934; and AstraZeneca, 641.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi has urged the public to register with the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac).

As of June 18, 192,802 individuals have registered for vaccination, or 50 percent of the target population.
