, Starr tie up for OFW insurance

Through the partnership, overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) can now purchase insurance policies for themselves or provide insurance for those back home.
“Since we launched the platform in March, we saw significant traffic coming from Filipinos abroad,” revealed Founder and CEO Hamilton Angluben.
For this reason, “We partnered with Starr Insurance Philippines to democratize access to insurance, especially for OFWs.”
Typically, OFWs need to come home to the Philippines before they can avail of insurance policies.
With the Starr partnership, OFWs simply have to log in to the platform, browse through insurance products, and purchase according to their needs.
Payments can be made through debit and credit cards, e-wallets, and other payment channels that apply abroad.
“We are simplifying the purchase journey for clients online which is a valuable step in bridging the insurance gap among Filipinos both here and abroad,” stressed Derick Narvacan, Country Manager of Starr Insurance Philippines.
Through the partnership, OFWs may avail a variety of health, accident, Covid-19 and vehicle insurance policies being offered by Starr Insurance Philippines.
Starr Hospital Protect provides a daily hospital income should the OFW or their loved one be hospitalized as a result of suffering from a sickness or an accident.
Starr Critical Protect provides a lump sum cash benefit upon diagnosis of any of the 51 Critical Illnesses. continues to seek more partnerships and grow its existing ones to offer more insurance products to Filipinos.
It plans to introduce property and travel insurance soon. Customers can either purchase on the platform instantly, or request for a free insurance quotation.
