WBC bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire and WBO king John Riel Casimero are set to lock horns soon for an all-Filipino mega unification bout on Aug. 14.
Donaire announced the development Sunday morning (Manila time) on his social media channels but the venue has yet to be announced.
"My team does magic. Thank you to Richard Shaefer, Rachel Donaire, PBC, TGB and Showtime. Started camp last week. Belt #2 coming soon," wrote the 38-year-old Donaire.

Donaire's camp accepted the invite from Sean Gibbons, the president of the Manny Pacquiao (MP) Promotions.
Casimero, for his part, made it short but sweet by tweeting two Philippine flags.
Donaire just became the WBC bantamweight belt last May by knocking out Frenchman Nordine Oubaali to improve at 41-6 record on top of 27 knockouts while Casimero (30-4, 21 KOs) stunned Ghanaian foe Duke Micah last September.
Casimero was supposed to fight regular WBA champion Guillermo Rigondeaux but was eventually scrapped to pave the way for the all-Filipino bout.
