Go: ICC has no business interfering in the country’s domestic affairs

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Thursday said that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has no business interfering in the Philippines’ domestic affairs .

Go issued the statement after an outgoing ICC prosecutor had formally requested for judicial authorization to conduct an investigation on alleged crimes against humanity case filed against President Duterte.

“They have no business interfering with our internal affairs po,” said Go during an interview after he attended the launch of the country’s 120th Malasakit Center at the San Lazaro Hospital in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Go stressed that the independent judicial system in the country is working, eliminating the need for foreign courts to meddle in the country’s internal affairs.

He also maintained that the government’s war against illegal drugs would remain relentless to provide the next generation of Filipinos a safer Philippines.

Go also mentioned that it is the Filipino people who should judge the implementation and results of the Philippine drug war, not a foreign court.

Go also hinted that the recent move of the ICC is politically motivated as the election season draws near.

He also commended law enforcement authorities for their commitment to fight societal ills, particularly corruption, criminality, and illegal drugs.

Commending President Duterte for his sacrifices to keep the country safe, Go told these entities to mind their own business instead of interfering in the country’s affairs.
