The local government of Caloocan City awarded its first “Safety Seal” certification for private establishments to SM Center Sangandaan on Thursday.
The Safety Seal Certification is given to public and private establishments that follow minimum public health protocols including the use of StaySafe.PH contact tracing application.
The awarding ceremony was attended by city administrator Engr. Oliver Hernandez, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary Ireneo Vismonte, Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin, DILG Caloocan Director Marco Cabueños, Caloocan Business Permit, and Licensing Office head Atty. Cho Vergara, Caloocan PNP chief Col. Samuel Mina, BFP Caloocan Chief Inspector Bernard Batnag Jr., and SM Malls Assistant VP for Operations North 5 and 6 Ms. Ana Datu.
In a statement, Mayor Oca Malapitan said that with the Safety Seal, people can feel safer and be assured that an establishment is following the minimum health protocols.
The city mayor also expressed gratitude to the management of SM Center Sangandaan, which is a regular vaccination site.
"Sa ganitong panahon, kailangan po natin magtulungan upang maibigay sa ating mamamayan ang ligtas na kapaligiran nang sa gayon ay kahit paunti-unti ay makabangon ang ating ekonomiya at bumalik tayo sa normal na sitwasyon tulad ng dati," he said.
Public establishments may apply for the Safety Seal certification at safetyseal.ncr.dilg.gov.ph while private establishments may coordinate with the City Business Permit and Licensing Office.
