During a virtual meeting with Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi Tuesday, Tugade lauded the city’s vaccination operations and praised medical workers for their service.

Tugade personally witnessed the vaccination system in Muntinlupa as he recently received his second dose of the vaccine as a senior citizen at Ayala Malls South Park in Alabang.

“The system is orderly and the vaccinators are properly trained. Muntinlupa is one of the local government units in Metro Manila which has improved in vaccination,” he said.

As of June 15, 115,846 doses have been administered in Muntinlupa. A total of 89,285 individuals have received their first dose, representing 23.1 percent of the target population of 385,725. In addition, 26,561 individuals were given their second dose.

Registration with the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) has increased to 172,732, or 44.8 percent of the target population.

Recently, the city government recorded the highest number of vaccinations with over 5,450 individuals who were vaccinated with their first dose last June 10.

Tugade also promised to help Muntinlupa by personally requesting for more vaccine supply and speedy delivery from the national government.

The city government decreased its vaccination target Tuesday to 500 individuals per vaccination site because of limited supply of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As a result of the vaccination, the Muntinlupa City Health Office has recorded a decrease in COVID-19 cases in the city. As of June 15, there are 459 active cases, down from 557 recorded last June 7.

Muntinlupa City has 13,414 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 12,598 recoveries and 357 deaths.

Mayor Fresnedi thanked Tugade, the city’s “Big Brother,” for his continued assistance to Muntinlupa and expediting national government services for the city.

The local government urged residents and other qualified individuals who are not yet registered in the city’s COVID-19 Vaccination Registration System to sign up via www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac.
