Over P1.6 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from five drugs suspects, two of them a couple on the Top 10 most wanted drug personalities of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) during two consecutive buy-bust operations in Marikina City on Monday (June 14).
In the first operation, members of the Marikina Police conducted a buy-bust in the house of the couple located at No. 98 Bonanza Street, Barangay Fortune, Marikina.
Based on a police report, an undercover policeman transacted with Rudolfo A. Unarosa, 38, and Grace Joy P. Unarosa, 41, around 3:50 p.m.
After handing over the marked money in exchange for shabu, a policemen went out and arrested the couple.
Seized from them were at least 80 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P544,000, police said.
Col. Benliner Capili, Marikina Police chief, said the couple was on the NCRPO’s Top 10 most wanted on illegal drugs.
“The married couple were both on NCRPO’s Top 10 most wanted drug personalities. Alias Rudy the husband is on the fifth spot, while his wife Joy is ninth,” he said.
Another sting operation was executed by the Marikina Police on Ampalaya Street in Barangay Tumana around 6 p.m.
Police identified the arrested suspects as Jonathan P. Pulido, 26, alias “Totong”; Marifel A. Estoque, 24; and Aaron Jhon G. Guiya, 21. All of them are residents of Marikina City.
The suspects transacted with an undercover police officer along Ampalaya Street in Barangay Tumana.
Probers said the suspects were apprehended after accepting the marked money.
Police retrieved around 170 grams of “shabu” with an estimated value of over P1.1 million.
The Marikina Police chief has vowed to continuously conduct anti-illegal drug operations in Marikina City.
“Do not use or sell illegal drugs, it destroys lives and our youth. I am warning you,” Capili said in Filipino.
“We will intensify our campaign against illegal drugs and we'l make sure you will be put behind bars.”
