The construction of the field hospital located at Rizal Park’s Burnham Green was finished within 52 days, which is days ahead of the city’s completion target of 60 days.

Construction for the facility began in April 2021.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso earlier said the facility was built to cater to mild and moderate COVID-19 cases, as well as to help create space in hospitals for non-COVID patients.

The city’s COVID-19 Field Hospital has a 336-bed capacity and is equipped with internet and airconditioning.

The Manila Health Department (MHD) on June 10 also sought for doctors, nurses, and radiologic technologists to man the field hospital.

Around 150 frontline health workers will be deployed in the facility.
