Cop among 133 individuals arrested in Baguio City gambling den


BAGUIO CITY – Authorities raided an illegal gambling den which resulted in the arrest of 133 personalities, including one police officer last Saturday, June 12 at a commercial building in Legarda Road, Baguio City.

Regional Information Officer Capt. Marnie Abellanida of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera said prior to the operation, a concerned citizen alerted authorities about an alleged illegal gambling activities in the said building.

An operation was immediately launched that led to the arrest of 133 including a Police Master Sergeant who is said to be assigned with the Regional Highway Patrol Group.

Confiscated during the raid were gambling cards; one set of Flat screen Television for online sabong; assorted colors of chips; gambling cash amounting to P363,170.00; one Toshiba Laptop computer; pad papers containing numerical figures for their net proceeds; assorted chairs/tables and assorted ballpens.

All arrested suspects were charged for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, as amended by Republic Act 9287; PD 449 in relation to RA 10175.
